Dead Rising 4 Review

Dead Rising 4 is developed Capcom Vancouver and published by Microsoft Studios and Capcom for PC and Xbox One. It’s the fourth installment of the Dead Rising series. This survival horror game was announced at Microsoft’s E3 2016 press conference. the conference was held on 3rd June, 2016. Dead Rising has definitely evolved with each new instalment. With added crafting and vehicles, and with changed settings and protagonists. The player can beat the shit out of the zombies by grabbing various handy weapons in different gruesome ways. The gameplay of this game is kept intact and traditional. The game is an entertaining and enjoyable mayhem inspired by its previous iteration.
Dead Rising 4 also marks the return of Frank West, the fan favourite protagonist. Frank was there in the first installment of Dead Rising . Now he’s back in the fourth installment to celebrate Dead Rising’s 10-year anniversary. The story of this game is offered as an amalgamation of in-game cut scenes and comic book inspired animation. And, unlike its predecessors, the game doesn’t feature a timer system or story co-op gameplay.

Dead Rising 4 is set in 2022, i.e., a year after the zombie outbreak in Los Perdidos, California. Frank, now working as a college professor and a former photo journalist is approached by one of his students, Vicky. Vicky, who convinces him to help her investigate a military compound which is located in the outskirts of Willamette, Colorado.  The site of the first zombie outburst. The relationship between Frank and Vicky seems believable. Once in, they get to know that the place was being used for zombie research. They are forced to leave with Frank labelled as a fugitive after he is wrongly accused by the government.
Near Christmas, i.e., a few months later, Brad Park, an agent of the ZDC, who persuaded him to help and scrutinize a brand new zombie outburst that is set in Willamette during the Black Friday sales, in exchange to clear his name, revealing that Vicky has already left to investigate the matter, herself. And then, they head towards Willamette, where their helicopter got hit by a missile, forcing to make a crash landing in the middle of the shopping mall. Then, the battle begins in a swing and they come to know many secrets during the gameplay.
After the hefty battle, Vicky reveals that she took the camera’s SD card, consisting all of the disk’s data, as they patch up, sympathize to share the credit for the story. Frank, Brad & Vicky move to the rooftop for the helicopter. Unfortunately, Frank is unable to board as he got grabbed by the zombies and thus, sacrifices himself so that Vicky and Brad could escape.

Dead Rising 4 is based on an intriguing central mystery which keeps your interest in the game intact. Also, the amusing & endearing commentary by Frank is definitely a good element for the game. The surprisingly well crafted plot, wild new combo weapons, and a plenty to discover open world element, however, turns out to be a over-the-top a popcorn entertainment for the player. And is thus, the best one among it’s previous iterations.
